SikaBit® P-12 AE

LIQUID SOLVENT BASED BITUMINOUS PRIMER

SikaBit® P-12 AE is a bituminous liquid that seals porous surfaces, such as concrete, which improves the adhesion of bituminous materials that are to be applied to the substrate.
Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

SikaBit® P-12 AE is used as a primer for SikaBit® membranes to increase adhesion and bond to the substrate.

Shelf life

12 months minimum from date of production if stored properly in original unopened packaging.

Storage conditions

Drums must be stored in their original package, in vertical position and under cool and dry conditions between temperatures of +5°C and +35°C. They must be protected from direct sunlight, rain, snow and ice.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

Concrete / brickwork / mortar screeds:
Must be smooth, clean, dry, homogeneous and free from oils and grease, dust and loose or friable particles.

APPLICATION

SikaBit® P-12 AE should be stirred thoroughly before use. Applied to the substrate by means of brush, roller or spray, as per consumption rates and allow to fully cure before installing following SikaBit® system.
Area's to be treated should be free from grease, oil and dust etc.
Only prime areas that are to be covered in the same day. Do not leave the primer exposed for more than 24 hours. If this should happen, re-apply primer coat at given comsuption rate and allow to fully cure as above.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® Thinner C immediately after use. Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
